He graduated in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto in 1985. He has devoted himself to teaching, first as an Assistant Professor of Design and Photography at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto (1985-1986), then as an Assistant Professor of Drawing at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (1986-1997), and later as a Visiting Associate Professor of Design at the Department of Communication and Art of the University of Aveiro (1997-2004). He has had his own studio since 1985. He has published several papers on design, notably in the GG collection ‘Diseño? Arte’ (2003), is represented in ‘Tráfego, antologia crítica da nova visualidade portuguesa’ and has participated in several collective and international design exhibitions. He was a consultant for the Portuguese Design Centre and a founding partner of the publisher and distributor Sátira design. National Design Award (1999) in the areas of Communication, Product and Environment, by the Portuguese Design Centre.
