Rui Mendonça

Rui Mendonça

Rui Mendonça was born in Maputo in 1965. He has a degree in Design from ESBAP, now the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, where he is a professor and head of the Master's Course in Product Design. He is a researcher at ID+ Institute for Research in Design Media and Culture. He has a PhD with a thesis in the field of Poster Design.
As a designer, he has worked with companies and institutions such as the Rectory of the University of Porto, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, and museums such as the D. Diogo de Sousa Museum and the Ponte de Lima Toy Museum. In the 1990s, he founded the publishing house Gémeo R., starting with the Alma Dupla collection.
